After visiting many times to Udaipur we finally found ourself lucky to have a clear sunny day to shoot this gigapixel image. With the team of four we reached at the top of the karni mata tample. We set up the motorized panoramic head gigapan on manfrotto tripod. We Installed 1 Canon 60D (18 MP) on it, with a 400 mm f5.6 in order to get a 600mm equivelent focal length. The cameras were set as follows: 400mm f5.6 Manual focus. We used the Live View (zoom and pan) to get a very precise focus control. Priority diaphragm F10 (to have a bigger depth of field) Iso 200 Recording in RAW The motorized head triggers the cameras. There was total 1456 images in the structure of 13 rows and 112 column. For the basic color correction all the 1456 images were first imported into photoshop and color corrected in Adobe Camera Raw. All the color corrected images then imported into dedicated photo stitching software "Auto Pano Giga". APG is a software to stitch images for a panoramic projection. It can stitch huge number of image together to make a seamless panoramic image.

Processing of the image has been done on Dell Precision M 4600 Mobile workstation. The processing machine was having 16 GB of RAM with 2.4 Ghz processor. To complete the rendering process it took around 18 hours. Format of the final stitch image was .KRO as no other format can save so much data in itself. JPG images has a resolution limit of 300000PX and Tiff can not save files over 2 GB of size in a single tiff file. KRO format can be used in other softwares like panotour pro to get the interactive output. We had to split the view into smaller pieces that could be edited in Photoshop. Note: Photoshop is internally limited to a size of 300,000 by 300,000 pixels. So the image of Udaipur could not be opened directly. A software Gigapx has been used to split the one 65 GB KRO file into 10 different photoshop Raw files to do the minor post production and color correction work. These 10 images again merged into one seamless KRO file after the color correction.
